Strategy

This is my FL states champ deck displayed exactly as played at FL states, designed by Scotty Lingrell and I (with some input from Matt Lush). I'm posting it to give you a good template for WHAP. This is a GREAT obj, and massive fun.

note scrambled trans: At fl states, this was the unerrated version, it let you stop Monnok. It's still useful as anti-senate or just to look to see if secure route or a matching weapon is in your res deck.

So this objective - it's beastly. It's built on some very manipulative and powerful themes.

1) Graveyard manip - scott's crazy designed secure route lets you pull any card into hand. I played one it's a trap three consecutive turns for instance. Pulling out endless smokescreens - it's a good thing!

2) Retrieval - the endless redeployment of repubs with the bacta tank and 21b generates even more retrieval as long as you battle. And the inside dope on WHAP was you had to battle it.

3) Search Capabilities - the 4 tv's, it's just funny. They MUST grab this card. Getting any card is just so powerful, esp with the huge force you activate.

So how do you play this deck? It's very much like old skool mains and toys.

You are basically unbeatable in battle on ground. You play it like old profit, beating up anyone who comes to the throne room. Between the dodge, the jedi concentrations(a great card), obi's journal, clash, sniper, weapons are almost no threat. Add in cancelling destinies, the ability to play the same abusive interrupts nearly endlessly, the characters redeploying and the massive power of these characters (you'll have to read their game texts), you are well prepared to defeat anyone who shows their face on the ground. Harc and the Jedi's can stop loads of ground drains.

This deck is awesome for instance against dark senate. You will literally cancel every single battle destiny when flipped.

For non-interactive decks, like space decks or walkers, you gotta beat 'em with direct damage. You flip fast and give 'em 4 a turn. Mace Windu is huge against these decks, he'll increase it to 6.

This deck is fun, and has lots of tech. Let's look at it a little

Jedi Concentration - if there's one card I want noticed, it's this. This is a signature card of mine. It's so great to watch epp maul reduced to a laugh. Also, read it's dueling text!

Levitation - recycling 6 that gets you r2, 21b and the journal

obi wan's journal - this card is immense. It prevents your drains modifiers from being cancelled, and you ain't gettin hit with jack while it's around. A lot of people don't realize that you can cancel ANY weapon destiny with this (2 with qui gon), not just ones targetting jedi

r2/threepio & Artoo I have a bad feeling - comedy from lingrell. Opponent draws no destiny. To paraphrase Agent Smith - "What good's a high destiny deck, if you ... can't ... draw... any destines?". Then "bibble" the bad feeling back to your hand with Secure route.

Meditation - Lingrell gets the props on this one. Weird, but effective.

Hand Maidens - more recycling, more retrieval.

Chancellor valoruum - Haha, he can actually go into the senate, with 21b at the Chamber. Qui gon's text can't be cancelled, most chars are republicans, and all the handmaiden forfeit very high to the used pile or to hand. You can actually whittle them out of the senate.

Amidala's blaster - Awesome card. Destiny 6, fire under Jedi's Conc, and it's an easy shot with Blaster Prof.

amidala herself - with all the gametexts of her, padme, handmaidens and jerus, there's no hitting her (barring hidden weapons/force lightning).

Now what does this deck need for today?

It could be worse

Vergence in the Force

And i think you are set. It's a lot of old skool style fighting you don't see much nowadays. Here's a clue, if Iceman (former dagobah reginoal champ) and I are playing the same obj at FL states, it's a good one.

Now we'll see Brian Fred's i'm sure it will be awesome.
