For the Dark Side card, see Alter (Dark) (Coruscant). For the Premiere card, see Alter.

Alter is a Light Interrupt (Lost Interrupt) from Coruscant.

Card Text

Target an Effect, Utinni Effect, or Political Effect (even if just being deployed), and one of your characters on table. Draw destiny. If destiny < ability of character, target Effect is canceled. OR Cancel Sense.

Lore

The Force can be used to affect the things around a Jedi. 'Always remember, your focus determines your reality.

Political Effect? What you talkin' 'bout, Willis?

That is the biggest change anyone will notice, besides the part that it is a Lost Interrupt. If you want to cancel any of the new Political Effects, you will need to use this card instead of the older Alters because the older ones do not target Political Effects. The older Alters still retain their usefulness since they are Used Interrupts and can continue to re-circulate in your Life Force.

Like the other Sense or Alter cards in this set, they will become very useful when used in the Episode I Closed Environment games where only cards with Episode I icons are allowed. Now you can get rid of that annoying Brisky Morning Munchen and prevent Jar Jar from coming back to haunt you, or cancel Drop! to stop your opponent from re-circulating cards or setting up destiny.

There are fewer high-ability characters for the Dark Side, but everyone will want to have Darth Maul or one of the other high-ability characters on table so you can use this card.

Rulings

  • Cannot cancel an Immediate Effect, Mobile Effect, or Starting Effect.[2]
  • Can be played as a top-level action.
  • Can be played as a response to the attempted deployment of an Effect or Utinni Effect. If successful, the target has no result.
