Garindan is a Dark Character (Alien) from Premiere Limited.

Card Text

When at same location as a Rebel of ability > 2, deploy -1 there for any Imperials, and during your move phase, Imperials at an adjacent site may move there for free.

Lore

Long-nosed, male Kubaz from Kubindi. Spy. Squealed on Obi-Wan and Luke outside Docking Bay 94. Works for Jabba the Hutt or the highest bidder. Not particularly brave.

Strategy

By Royce Russell, Gold 15[1]

If you are the type of player who likes to surprise your opponent then take another look at Garindan. His modest deploy cost makes him a welcome addition to any deck. He is one of my favorite aliens to play. He has a high destiny number, which comes in handy when playing against a numbers deck, and he is also a spy! His real strength comes from his game text. When with a Rebel such as Owen Lars, or any of the Rebels with ability greater than 2, your Imperials deploy -1 there! Hey, any amount of Force that you can shave off deployment costs is worth a lot in surprise value. Plus, say you need to send in backups to Garindan's site, no problem, if that pesky Rebel of high ability is still present, your Imperials at adjacent sites can move to Garindan's site for free!

Combos:

Garindan + Hoth:Mountains + Lots of 2 deploy Imperials.

This could be a fun combo in a Hoth deck. Lure a Rebel of ability greater than 2 to your location and then deploy all the Imperials in your hand for next to nothing. Lure Luke Skywalker to the Hoth: Mountains (Light Side gets a +1 Force drain so this should be easy), then deploy Garindan, DS-61-2, DS-61-3, and DS-61-4 for just a mere 2 Force, and have a power of 8 and plenty of ability! You could even add General Veers for just one more Force for a total power of 11! With a deploy -2 the possibilities are endless.

Garindan + Undercover.

Use this simple combo to block your opponents Force drain. Plus, you still get the -1 deploy for your Imperials if there is a Rebel with ability greater than 2 at the same location. This is a way to gain a slight advantage over an entrenched Rebel force. Let the games begin!
