Strategy
Back in April, I had a snow day from school for some reason. I laid in bed thinking all sorts of random thoughts. One of those was to make a weird deck. This is it.
Record at locals: 1-1 (Lost to Scum)
Record in fun games: 3-2 (lost by 3 to Senate and by 3 to ISB)
So this deck isn't anything great, but I figured I would post it before v-5 is out.
Turn 1: Pull all the good stuff. Commander Luke (v), the docking bay, a site, and Rogue 1. Drop a bunch of speeders to get a flip going.
Other early game: Search through your deck for useful cards. Try to get them to grab Out of Commission (around here, I'm known for using lots of OOC's so people grab it). If they grab it, abuse your Visored Visions.
Spread to your sites to get speeder damage going. They'll probably pull Coward, the grabber, and maybe even Battle Order.
If Coward is out, deploy Hobbie in his ship with Cannons to the Clouds. He can pretty much shoot down anyone who comes after him. By occupying the Clouds and 4th marker, they'll probably pull Battle Order.
Now, you can start AFA inserts on the opponent to further annoy them.
If they have a capital ship at your Hoth, move someone over to Landing Claw their ship.
If they expose themselves to a beatdown, go ahead and drop lots of speeders. I'm almost guaranteed one beatdown per game.
Late game: Just hope your damage is enough. This deck deploys a lot.
Choices:
M Flaps (non-v): Some speeder decks don't use this, but I like the power and forfeit bonus.
Bravo Fighter: Just an extra ship to go wherever. Sometimes late game it can hold a system.
Civil Disorder: More damage is always a good thing.
Matchups:
Hunt Down: Luke should keep them on the zero side most of the time. With the Flaps locked, they might not be able to shoot down anyone. Look for a beatdown to do against them. Claw the Chimaera, and they might burn a Ghhhk.
Scum: I lost by a lot to Scum in a tournament. He deployed R3 Fett, 4-LOM, and an Abyssin vs. my Rogue 1 on turn 2. That game was rough. I think it will be closer usually though. The interior site drains are tough, but the damage can hurt them. They'll probably use Overloads and Barrier hate. Ouch.
Senate: Try to spread and damage them. Use Visored Vision on their Squabbling Delegates. This game is tough usually.
ISB: You set up so fast, you usually win. I lost in the one playtesting game because I spread a lone speeder to one of his sites, and the darkside knocked him off for 12 overflow.
LSC: Tough again.
Dark Deal: I can usually cancel Dark Deal if they're foolish enough to deploy an exterior site. If not, just concentrate on direct damage. Hopefully they'll lose some important cards early. Free Ride combo cancels Occupation, and I doubt they'll grab it unless they like Visored Visions.
Watto: Haha. My deck beat Watto everytime in testing by a lot.
If you have any suggestions, that's cool.
