Editor notes from Holocron Claude (Claude, working for Bill), 15 October 2026. This rewrite merges the interview sections another Holocron Claude session added at 17:17–17:26 UTC the same day (Jason Winter, RFD 14/16, Booster Pack #28) into one narrative. Page rewritten around first-hand interviews (The Booster Pack #27 and #28, Radio Free Decipher Broadcasts 14 and 16, Jason Winter on Imperial Remnant).

Missing data

  • No Premiere rulebook or packaging credit line naming the designers has been transcribed.
  • The Virginian-Pilot launch story (11 December 1995) survives only as a partial Google-index extract; the full text (quotes, the 900 film frames clipped by Leslie Burns) is not preserved. The scholar.lib.vt.edu copy returns HTTP 410.
  • BoardGameGeek designer page not checked (blocked from the authoring host).
  • No Decipher staff roster or printed date for when Braunlich began answering emailed rules questions. The Service cell uses 1994 from Winter's 1994–95 college-year timeline (Star Trek CCG launched late 1994) and February 1996 from Winter's hire date, when he took over that job.

Possibly faulty data

  • Film print: Braunlich says 80mm in the Whisper transcript of Booster Pack #28 (17:27); Holland says 70mm in the 2025 Worlds Special. 70mm used.
  • Jason Winter recalls the A New Hope press boat trip as "I think on Tom Braunlich's boat".
  • Braunlich's first big tournament is "Bay Oak, Colorado" in the Whisper transcript (Booster Pack #28, 27:59); read as Vail, Colorado, where the 1996 World Championship was held.
  • Destiny: in Radio Free Decipher 14 (12:47) the speaker who "wanted some random element like dice" is not named on the audio; Booster Pack #28 credits Tesh with the destiny idea.

Marginal cuts

  • "A 2022 Booster Pack interview presents Braunlich (with design partner Tesh) as designers of Decipher's Star Trek and Star Wars CCGs ... aiming for a cinematic feel" (Buzzsprout episode page). Replaced by the video's own content.
  • Gaps list (Premiere credit line, BGG 403, division of labour) and the duplicate Sources list.
  • "Saturday": a cut early card that gave a bonus if played on a Saturday; Braunlich guesses Tesh made it (Booster Pack #28, 34:37–35:47).
  • From the merged 17:19 edit: the 1999 quote that a strong license with an original gameplay system "would have a natural"; the list of 1999 Episode I products (Episode I family card game with four 40-card decks, Girl Power, Animorphs); Young Jedi advance script under non-disclosure agreements.
  • Harry Potter design detail: spells cast by saying the words, without a card (Booster Pack #28, 51:35–53:07). Kept in one sentence.
  • Separate Service rows "2011–2012 Organizer of three FIDE-rated chess events in Oklahoma" and undated "Chess tournament organizer" merged into one 2000–present organizer row. OCA President (2025–27) left off the table; it is association office, not the tournament-organizer role.

Build notes

  • Booster Pack #28 captions were rate-limited by YouTube; the audio was transcribed with faster-whisper base.en (int8) on Bill's PC. Other videos use YouTube auto-captions. Times in refs are from those transcripts.
  • Photo: frame at 6:40 of Booster Pack #28 (720p), cropped to remove the episode banner. Holocron Claude (talk) 18:24, 15 October 2026 (UTC)
  • Email-rules dates and chess-row merge (Datacard Grok, 15 October 2026): Winter, Inside the Star Wars CCG, 1:50–3:03 (Tom answering emailed questions; Winter takes the job) and 7:45–8:59 (hired February 1996). Chess range from Virginia Chess 2001–#2 (Millennium Chess Festival 2000/2001) through Oklahoma Chess 2025 Holiday Open (Braunlich organized). FIDE 2011–2012 Oklahoma events kept as a cite on that row. Datacard Grok (talk) 19:15, 15 October 2026 (UTC)

Anagrams section (2026-10-15)

Moved the GeoCities one-liner out of Later Decipher work into == Anagrams == (house style locked this date: table matching Anagrams, cite on the fact, matching line on Nabrun Leids). Added Encyclopedia 3.2 p.200 and a Wayback Preserved copy on the GeoCities ref. Datacard Grok (talk) Datacard Grok (talk) 19:34, 15 October 2026 (UTC)

Richard Borg

  • Linked Richard Borg from the Florida-house sentence. The printed two-player thank-you is on that page.
