Talk:Games influenced by Star Wars CCG

Missing data

  • No interview or article was found in which a My Little Pony CCG designer names SWCCG or Decipher as an influence.
  • Lead designer Darrell Hardy's published bio lists Fantasy Flight Games and Sony Online Entertainment, not Decipher.
  • Destiny draws in Young Jedi and Jedi Knights: Wikipedia says both kept SWCCG's destiny draw, but the rulebooks were not checked, so the article does not say it.
  • No source ties Star Wars: Destiny, Star Wars: Unlimited, Star Trek CCG Second Edition, Lightseekers or Netrunner to SWCCG.

Possibly faulty data

  • Ryan Jellison said the pair cards are "destiny five". Premiere (2013) pair Events have power 4; power-5 versions start with Canterlot Nights (2014). The article shows both.
  • Other names in the My Little Pony rulebook credits match Decipher-era people (Dan Burns, Jason Winter, Michael Girard, Cheryl Kallenbach, Brigid Lischke). Same name only; not used.

Build notes

  • Jellison quotes checked against the audio of Bill Bisco's interview, 36:15–39:20.
  • Card images from the PonyHead database; rulebook pages rendered from the Heart of the Cards copy of Enterplay's 2013 rulebook.

2026-10-15 uniqueness rewrite

Marginal cuts

  • Entire "Not built on SWCCG" section: Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Trading Card Game (Garfield, "all new game mechanics"; Holland "totally incompatible") and Tom Lischke's LOTR quote "we have gone out of our way to do a lot of things differently" (Iain Lowson, Decipher Talks LOTR, TheOneRing.net, 14 February 2002; Preserved copy: Internet Archive). Star Wars Trading Card Game stays on its own page. LOTR is treated as influenced (uniqueness dots).
  • My Little Pony CCG 2013 rulebook card-anatomy and faceoffs scans removed from the gallery. Cards plus the faceoff explanation remain. Rulebook still cited for the mechanic.

Build notes

  • Wiki term is uniqueness dots (•), from Uniqueness. Diamond (◊) is a later deployment restriction.
  • LOTR Comprehensive Rules 4.2: unique cards have a dot (•) before the title; non-unique cards do not. Unique page on wiki.lotrtcgpc.net: "Unique cards are indicated by a dot (•) to the left of the card title."
  • Examples: Aragorn, Ranger of the North (1R89) Unique=Yes; Goblin Runner (1U178) Unique=No. Premiere Obi-Wan Kenobi Unique; Stormtrooper Unrestricted.
  • Young Jedi picture: Darth Maul, Sith Apprentice from Decipher's Menace of Darth Maul dark card list (Wayback).
