Talk:2009 Virtual Block Reorganization

Style pass (2026-10-15)

Missing data

  • Card-by-card compare of Original Virtual Set PDFs / the June 2009 Fifth Anthology preview against Virtual Block PDFs (changed titles, dropped titles, full six-card gametext parity) has not been done.
  • Gametext parity for the other four preview titles (Jabba's Prize (V), Marquand In Blizzard 6, Tarkin's Bounty (V), We Have A Prisoner & I Can't Shake Him!) vs the June preview is unchecked; multi-column slip PDFs scramble under naive OCR.
  • Whether any ephemeral VirtualCards18.pdf ever briefly existed off-CDN is unknown. Internet Archive CDX hits were empty; that is not proof it never existed.
  • Aug/Sep 2009 PC homepage wording beyond the Wayback 18 Sep 2009 hub cite.
  • No primary PC source found for the "VS19–21 → Block 6" paraphrase.

Possibly faulty data

  • Some encyclopedias and BoardGameGeek moreinfo (https://boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/thing:1270:moreinfo) say that after the August 2009 reorg, what were to have been Virtual Sets 19–21 became Virtual Block 6, and that VS1–18 then existing were reorganized into Blocks. BGG overstates a standalone VS18 relative to the missing CDN PDF. Cut from the article; the article follows the Block PDF intros, the Polish preview and CDN evidence.

Marginal cuts

  • "The same Polish note reminds readers that Decipher-era previews often had white borders and that texts could change later — so this wiki does not assume every preview line is final without a primary PDF check." (star-wars.pl Preview Fifth Anthology, 8 June 2009)
  • "Prefer: naming & PDF note on Cancelled Virtual Sets; full story on this page + Virtual Sets (2002-2009) + Virtual Block 6." (editorial guidance)
  • Removed the duplicate Sources list; every item was already a <ref> except "BGG moreinfo — secondary only" (above).

Dead link kept as plain text (archive backfill, 20 October 2026)

res.starwarsccg.org/legacyblocks/VirtualCards18.pdf returned Access Denied (HTTP 403) when checked on 20 October 2026. The Wayback Machine has no capture with the real content (its CDX index only lists captures of the same 403 error), so the link was changed to plain text with a dated note instead of a Preserved copy (diff). The other cited URLs on the page now carry checked Preserved copies. Comlink Cursor (talk) 00:04, 21 October 2026 (UTC)

Dest (2026-10-23)

Style-guide cleanup: encyclopedia lead, Block logos, drop HTTP 403 / 20 October 2026 CDN probe from the body (that fact stays in the 20 October 2026 Talk item), drop contrast headings. Fifth Anthology still released inside Reflections IV / Virtual Block 6. Era hub is now Virtual Original / Virtual Legacy. Datacard Grok (talk) 11:11, 23 October 2026 (UTC)
