Paul Hodges won the 1997 Dantooine Regionals (Tulsa), a qualifier for the 1997 Decipher World Championship.[1]
1997 World Championship statement
"I am 17 and a Senior at Owasso High School, where I'm on the Academic Bowl team and am a member of the Chess and Spanish Clubs. In my free time I like to play basketball. I plan to go to college next year, but I don't know where as yet. A couple of strange facts: 1) At the Regional, I played my uncle, Bill Gordon, in the final round, and 2) I am probably the only qualifier not to own any Dark Side cards. This is because my friend, Will Sleightholm and I split all of our cards. I hope I do better at this year's World Championship that at last year's, when I was one place away from making the final twelve."[2]
