Open (45 cards)

Open (45 cards) is a constructed format on GEMP (code open_45_card). It uses the same card pool as Open, with a deck size of 45 cards.[1] On play.swccg.com it is no longer a separate format. Since 3 November 2026, a table, league or tournament there plays Open with the deck size game option set to 45 cards, and the old code still loads that way.[2][3] The card pool is Decipher-printed set ids 1–14 (Premiere through Theed Palace) and premium ids 101–112. It also includes current Virtual Sets 0–27 (ids 200–227) and the Virtual Premium Set (id 301).[1][4]

Deck size

Default deck size on GEMP 45 cards

The GEMP format definition sets a deck size of 45 cards.[1][5]

On play.swccg.com, deck size is a game option chosen when a table, league or tournament is set up, separate from the format. Any format can be played at any supported size (40 to 100 cards as of November 2026). Games show the chosen size next to the format name, for example "Open · 45 cards".[3][2]
