Strategy
STRATEGY
Before activation I’ll use my Strike Planning to grab McQuarrie and Rieeken.
First turn I’ll grab the Hoth; Docking Bay with Insurrection, deploy it with Rieeken there then use Rieeken to pull A New Secret Base. I’ll use A New Secret Base to grab the two other Echo sites and, force spends permitting, deploy the Command Centre and pop McQuarrie down.
Second turn I’ll pop down the Echo Corridor from hand, and use Reeiken to grab Romas and deploy him there. I’ll also grab EBO while I’m there with A New Secret Base.
I should have some X-Wings in my hand so I’ll grab a system with Romas (Normally Kessell or Coruscant) and plant my X-Wings down for some force drain.
I’ll keep repeating this process as necessary using Romas and A New Secret Base.
The rest is reactive stuff.
If my opponent gets straight onto the 4th Marker I’ll use Reeiken to grab the Sentry and pop it down there to slow him down. The non-pilot characters; Qui-Gon, Leia and Lando are there to beat off and Hoth Invaders or to get over to Tattooine, Naboo or Bespin to run interference with my opponent’s agenda. (They are great for over confident Mauls!) They can also be handy as anti Battle Order / Resistance suicide missions to get that one BIG force drain.
If keeping a hold on the skies is a problem I’ll use Squadron Assignments with my Red pilots, my interrupts and my Laser Cannons to deal some beatings. I can also drag Lajaie out with Reeiken and run away to Hoth if the going gets too tough. I sometimes save up my X-Wings and swarm any floating bounty hunters, boosting them up with Organized Attack and Incom Corporation.
If in need of a final boost I’ll get an All Wings Report In or The First Transport Is Away! to top up my reserve deck.
Pretty standard EBO fare – but when I play it I get either a BIG win or a BIG loose!
Any suggestions on stopping the big losses?
Hi Sithborg, thanks for the comments.
Do you mean the 3rd Marker? I was trying to keep Hoth sites at a minimum so I can keep a close eye on my 5 sites available to cancel the EBO - less need to spread out.
J'Quille and Walkers are a risk but fortunately no one in my town is playing them (Except me!!!)
