    • This is an updated version of an earlier post, after some Tourny games some changes were needed**

Please don’t rate this bad because you think RTP is a bad deck.

I am posting my favorite deck to share with you all. Yes Rescue The Princess. One of the most underestimated decks of 'em all. Have you ever read the cards and thought about it. Well to be honest, i didn't do it until i saw a rtp deck posted by GAND called MO MURDER, check it out! I like building new decks that not many people play so i decided to build it and adapt it to my wishes.

This deck rules because:

- nobody expects this. In fact, almost nobody knows what this does. Surprise = good!

- the flip side is just too good. Canceling opponents immunity, adding attrition and destiny(leia) makes him loose important characters all the time. Every time I place Darth Vader out-of-play, my opponent wants to deploy him again and don't even know what happened. This rocks against BHBM and HDADTJ mains decks.

- high destiny. Ok, mains don't have high destiny but with a lot of recyclable destiny 4 or higher interrupts some 6 effects and the lift tube/lift tube escape cards you will draw very nice destinies.

SO you think flipping is hard?

Well it isn't. You just have to do some prepping. Echo Base Garrison and/or lift tube (escape) In your first turn.Get 8d8(I play two because you can’t take any risk, if one gets lost (trample, sniper or whatever) you also have another). Deploy to Yavin DB and move to Death Star DB. Put a lift tube there and move droid to prison. Now it's time to get some protection for Leia. Get Bacta Tank with Garrison. Deploy Ben Kenobi to Tatooine DB if you have him and move to Yavin. You can also use Barrier, Fallen portal & Lift Tube Escape to protect Leia. Free Leia by drawing >3 in your control phase and drain for 4 at the prison! Don't forget to retrieve 4 force for the site's text. Move Leia inside lift and move lift to DB. Now put Leia inside a speeder with matching echo base garrison pilot(forfeit fodder). Transit Speeder to Yavin DB and you can move Leia to War Room and Flip. You might want to move waiting Ben Kenobi with her if possible or deploy some more protection. Now you are ready to rumble! Don't be afraid to loose Leia, which won't happen if you play good. You have lots of protection. Remeber to Signal for Insurrection and Staging Areas as fast as you can.

Why not start with HFTMF?

You can start with that if you want and search for garrison (add another then) with The Signal. I played this also but this way is a little faster. You will be able to always pull 8d8 on your first turn and if you have a tube, you will be able to free Leia on turn 2. This way your opponent can’t build up their forces in time to prevent flipping. Yes, I know Garrison can be altered but I’ll think it’s worth the risk.

Things to remember!

Opponent drains for +1 force when flipped, combined with battle plan this is huge!

Prisoner adds 2 to drain and one destiny.

Your Attrition is +2 so he always has to forfeit at least something.

Use lift tube escape to track destiny. You can play escape to put it and a tube back in deck. That's a traceable 5&6.

Echo Base Garrison makes your piloted speeders immune to attrition <6.

Yes that flip side is just too good.

All his imperials, jedi and imp. capitals lose immunity. This means that you can take out Vader and Emperor by deploying a destiny drawer against it and draw destiny(adding 2) and place them out-of-play. This is fun! You can also take out any other important cards like jabba, bib, myo and wreck his strategy.

Reasons for card choices:

- Wedge RSL: There are 3 rogue squad members in this deck, 2 you can pull from your deck. Great!

- Echo Base Garrison: Pull 8D8, Bacta Tank, Comm. Wedge. This card is better for RTP than it is for EBO and is one of the most vital cards in this deck.

- 8D8: Destiny 5, the man(or droid) for freeing Leia and making Death Star Plans runs.

- Lift Tube Escape: Used 5, pulls lift tubes, puts unoccupied lift tubes in used pile. Great for tracking a 5 and 6 together for weapon destiny/battle destiny/death star plans(draws 3 destiny to retrieve).

- Fallen Portal: They start a battle at any of my docking bays this is a great method of character elimination. Average destiny of around 4 means even Mara is not safe... I have portaled Vader before by tracking the 6 from a Tube/Tube Escape combo. This cards is just broken and with 4 DB to fight for i include 3!

- Order To Engage: Flipped RTP? Are they a little afraid to fight? Deploy in front of them and let them decide what the hell to do now. Lose three to order or lose characters for good.

- Bith Shuffle Combo: I hate barrier almost as much as numbers. Also it allows you to shuffle your opponents deck when you think he's stacking destiny. And a 5.

- Luke With Lightsaber: see BHBM.

- On The Edge: For retrieval and you can loose Leia from table to your Bacta Tank with this t avoid a beatdown crew at a DB.

- Death Star Plans: Yes i know that secret plans works very good against this but it is just to good to not play with it. Retrieving more than 10 force it worth saving force for a turn.

- It’s A Trap: The only thing your opponent can do to prevent a quick flip is to drop everything at the war room. If you can’t flip fast or opponent has a good hand, he’ll probably has a whole bunch of baddies over there ready to do everything they can to kill Leia. Since you have to keep Leia at the war room after she moved there and you might not have Ben & Bacta Tank or he has a nasty trick up his sleeve, the only thing you can do is cancel the battle and move safely away on your next turn and board the speeder. Once you’re flipped you’re relatively safe. And it cancels sniper(combo) which is also a threat to the princess. You must always have at lest one in your hand, that’s why i play 3 of these monsters.

So what will you do to battle space:

Battle Plan tends to stop most decks cold in the midgame, since your forces have this nice habit of staying alive while opponent’s forces die forever... If need be, Home One can take all the space forces they can throw at you. Here is how. Fill it with these pilots: Han w/Blaster, Prisoner 2187, Wedge, Zev, Hobbie, Chewbacca. The last 3 provide over 20 forfeit and the total of 3 destinies. LS,LK Ben and Lando can hold the ground well enough on their own. As long as battle plan is in effect the opponent has to pay 4 per drain, and it is hard to do that and keep up a good fighting force. This way I can retrieve faster than most any deck can drain.

Cards you might want to add:

- Bantha Droid: You can Do Death Star Plans with him too and he cancels Latheral Damage everywhere.

- Lando With Vibro Axe: Together with Ben, they rule Tatooine.

- Demotion: Against Chiraneau or Tarkin and he can’t cancel OTE anymore(or vice versa).

- HFTMF & another Garrison : see above.

- Lift Tube Escape: To get the tube faster.

- Fallen Portal: This card is just too good!

Matchups:

MKOS: Mostly a ground deck, no real protection from RTP. Based on several unique characters. Battle Plan will slow early drains until you can put a strike team into the palace or transit them over. Kill the Myo for abyssins while excluding Jabba or Boelo, kill off uniques with the weapons, and the +2 to attrition. Without Jabba, or Bib(or Myo for Abyssins) MKOS is doomed.

COTVG or CCT: Same as with MKOS, just march on in and take control of the Audience Chamber. Your strength in this deck is on Tatooine. Deploy and place out-of-play and aliens so they cant retrieve them.

HDADTJ: Kill Vader while flipped. The destiny is high enough to shoot him with Han(especially when tracked via lift tube escape/lift tube). ABSOLUTELY dependent on unique characters. Once a few of them are gone, do a couple Death Star Plans runs to bump up differential

BHBM: Hang onto Luke(there is enough retrieval to keep you afloat), go after Vader. This objective can flip in as little as the second turn. Even an early Vader is able to be dealt with, sometimes even better for you than a patient Vader. Once the dark Lord is dead the game is yours. As you move toward the throne room to finish off the Evil Galactic Empire, keep your strike team together and plow through defenses. See HDADTJ about dependence on uniques. If the emperor deploys to interfere with freeing Leia, use Luke With Lightsaber and swing at him, with some luck you can kill him immediately. Use Saber Luke to hit and run.

SYCFA: Battle Plan will slow them down if it is TIEs, and it may be a bit harder to free Leia. If it looks like a flip deck (these hurt the worst as death star plans will become useless) move as quickly as possible and then ship out to another planet. If they are playing star destroyers, use your Home One with multiple pilots (and Leia aboard to add a destiny) to take them down for good while Death Star Plans to retrieve them.

TDIGWATT: This is one of the harder matchups, but your Lift Tubes work wonders here as does Fallen Portal. Also TDIGWATT tends to give away a lot of good force drain sites as well as a good amount of generators. This game is difficult though because they usually start Secret Plans and All Wrapped Up can capture some of the high forfeit characters, making them unusable for awhile.

ISB Space: This is the hardest matchup. You rule the ground and if he comes dows his ass will be kicked big time and since all his admirals etc. are placed out of play he will not battle on the ground for long. Spread and drain. You have a drain potential of 9 (sabers, leia, prison, DB’s) and he has to pay 4 force to drain with Battle Plan. You can reteive big time with Death Star Plans. Play smart and winning is very much possible.

You can also surprise him with Home One and some pilots (see comment above). But Beware of Latheral Damage.

Any Maul Deck.

These decks are based around Maul and a other jedi. One battle and place the tattoo boy out of play.

Thanks GAND for your excellent deck idea.
