Strategy
First turn: Pull Rieekan and Dodonna out of your deck; reshuffle. Activate. Deploy a system from reserve, pull the Echo Docking Bay. Put Rieekan at the Echo Docking Bay and have him pull the Main Power Generators, which pulls the North Ridge. Perhaps drop a couple X-wings to Rendezvous point and move to the system you pulled. Second turn: Get another system, Rieekan pulls ANSB, ANSB pulls Echo Command Center and Echo Base Operations, deploy Dodonna to the Echo Command Center, drop some more ships. Wokling pulls Incom Corporation any time. Third turn: ANSB gets third system, Dodonna gets Navander, Rieekan gets Echo Corridor, deploy Navander to Echo Corridor, and deploy Echo Base Operations. Your objective gets the fourth system, Navander gets the fifth system, flip. Drop more ships. Move Dodonna and Navander to Echo Docking Bay. Fourth turn: Drain 19 maximum, probably less, but still a considerable amount. At any time during those first turns you would’ve Signaled for Thrown Back and deployed it to cycle your deck for cards you need. CD is awesome force loss to opponent. Drop more ships (did I mention you can use Organized Attack to do this? But I usually prefer the immunity it gives), hopefully Thrown Back for All Wings Report In now or a little later for some great retrieval. Fifth turn: After canceling a ton of his drains- hehheh- drain for 19, or probably 16 or something. Last turn you probably drained about 10. That’s 26 force loss for your opponent(not counting damage before you flip, the measly stuff). That’s a lot of damage. Of course, Resistance might be out to hamper your plans, but you still drain a lot. Often, actually, Resistance has come out against me, but I can still do quite well. That’s probably all I need to say about the game plan. The rest is just continuing like that.
A few key cards:
Incom Corporation. All X-wings are power 4, ability 2.
Echo Base Operations. In space, power+3 and drains +2
Organized Attack: Pull 3 X-wings out of reserve, or all X-wings in a battle are power+1 and IMMUNE to ATTRITION.
Civil Disorder: Opponent has to play a card with ability during his deploy phase, or lose 2 force. Lost if he has more ability on table (yeah, right).
All Wings Report In: Retrieve force equal to however many X-wings on table. Or take an X-wing into hand from deck.
Thrown Back: Cycle your deck for All Wings, Power Pivot, or whatever would be handy at the moment.
Systems: All are carefully chosen. Kessel, Kiffex, Coruscant, and Naboo for drains of 4 and 5, and Endor for less drains of his, and no activation for him (yeah, like it matters with all you give him!).
Absent cards: Why no Aquaris? I have enough generation already, and I can’t pull it with ANSB. That’s basically it.
Cards mentioned in game scenario not listed here, although they are key. EG Rieekan.
Matchups:
Dark Deal: Outdamage him (yeah, it’s hard). You need to get your drain cancellers out to keep DD from working, but the Occupation is going to hurt. Normally, stick to your own systems, but you can attempt to make a heroic effort to take over Bespin. It should go something like this:
HCF?
X-wing xX
X-wing Laser Cannon
Power Pivot
Organized Attack?
Basically, you just have to take down Executor. Once Executor goes down, you can keep the system from then on, but the tough part is taking down Executor. The key is absolutely Power Pivot, and perhaps a little tracking. Basically, though, stick to your own systems.
IO(V)/Walker Garrison: This is a tough one. Hopefully, with the shield up, you’ll have time to play EBO and get out, and have a couple turns of drains before he cancels it. Hope he doesn’t blow the generator : (
Thrown Back for Houjix as soon as you can.
Hunt Down: He doesn’t have anything to duel, so you’ll just be losing to Visage the whole game, but probably not any force drains. If he does have a limited space fleet (unlikely) just shoot down his ZiMH or whatever and keep draining.
BHBM: Pretty much the same as Hunt Down, only you don’t lose to Visage. Just Your Destiny.
COTVG: He gets a BH ship each turn…Thrown Back for a cannon and shoot ‘em! He won’t have anybody to fight or capture on ground.
Watto: Hmm. Try not to lose too much damage, get drain-cancellers out…don’t give him free Executor, k?
Combat: Damage him faster…hold on to your systems hard. He’s likely to have some strong space.
TIE swarm: You can out-battle him easily. You drain faster.
ROps: Woo! Hold Ralltiir with an iron fist! Don’t let him flip and search for his big ships each turn.
AOBS: Take Coruscant away. They generally don’t play too much space.
Invasion: Take Naboo away, shoot his droid starfighters.
EOps: Take Endor away. This is really a space-drain deck, too, with an EBO-like Ominous Rumors. X-wings come out faster than destroyers.
MKOS: I may be mistaken, but they don’t generally play space, right? I may be mistaken…
ISB: If this is ISB space, you’re in for a fight! If it’s not, you’ll win OK.
CCT: CCT and a strong space force? Nah.
