Gemme, posting with his playtest partner Steebo, played a version of Alex Klammrodt's Quiet Mining Colony deck. It lost only to Hayes Hunter's deck, played by Steebo Baroni, and to a Dark sacrifice deck.[2] Hunter posted both decks as card for card what he won Massachusetts States with: a Dark My Kind Of Scum deck with Abyssins and Light Hidden Base mains.[1][5] Jon Bragg's Dark My Kind Of Scum deck went 1–2 (+4) there; he wrote that one loss was his own mistake.[7] Desai finished 3rd with a Light Watch Your Step deck; his only loss was to Hayes Hunter's Abyssin deck.[6] For the previous year's event see 2000 Massachusetts State Championship.
