Qui-Gon Jinn is a Light Character (Jedi Master) from Tatooine.
Card Text
Deploys -2 to Tatooine. Power +1 at same site as Maul. Once during a duel Qui-Gon is in, may cancel a duel destiny just drawn and cause a redraw. Opponent's aliens are power -1 at same site. Immune to attrition.

Accepted Obi-Wan Kenobi as his Padawan learner. Was given orders to protect Queen Amidala at all costs.
Strategy
Qui-gon Jinn has the distinction of being the only Light Side character to participate in armed combat during the Tatooine-based scenes of The Phantom Menace. This combat was in the form of a brief duel with Darth Maul. It should come as no surprise that Qui-gon's gametext reflects this conflict with Maul. When at a site with Maul, Qui-gon gets a power bonus that brings him to the same level as his nemesis, allowing them to start a battle on even ground. In addition, if Maul is bold enough to start a duel against Qui-gon, the Jedi Master has the ability to cancel a destiny draw and cause a redraw. While this text doesn't give Qui-gon an advantage in the number of duel destinies drawn, it does give him the opportunity to potentially reduce a high Dark Side destiny or increase an unfortunate destiny draw of his own.
Finally, Qui-gon Jinn is able to reduce the effectiveness of opponent's aliens at the same site by reducing their power by 1. This trick can be very useful when presented with a swarm of aliens, bringing their high power down to a more manageable level.
