Deneb Both is a Light Character (Alien) from Tatooine.

Card Text

When deployed, draw up to 2 cards from top of Reserve Deck. Unless Graak on table, while at a battleground and opponent is losing Force from Force drains at same or adjacent site, lost Force must come from Force Pile, if possible.

Lore

Shy Ithorian forester. She seeks to leave Tatooine for a better life. Firm adherent to Ithorian philosophy of planting two trees for every one harvested.

Strategy

By Jedi Knight[1]

Ahhhh.. the gentle Ithorian. A tree-loving hammerheaded species with two mouths, two throats, and a beautiful, if ill-fated, home planet. They have appeared in Star Wars CCG twice before, always for the Light Side.

Deneb comes with the lowest ability of them all, but the highest forfeit! As expected, his game text provides the meat. A great draw function is first up, 2 cards for you when you deploy him. That's 2 more cards that you could deploy that same turn, and a good destiny tracker will be able to use that to great advantage.

His secondary ability is reminiscent of Mosep. Slightly more restricted in that Deneb must be at a battleground, and instead of punishing from Reserve, he forces Dark Side to lose from Force Pile. Some nasty resource manipulation possibilities exist with this alien environmentalist! This encourages your opponent to draw up all cards and not save any, helping you avoid nasty surprises like You Are Beaten and Imperial Barrier.

re-arrange their Force Pile on their turn; your drain can't be modifed or canceled, and comes straight from their Force Pile.

You managed to get Anakin's Podracer across the finish line first, so now the Podrace Arena is a battleground again. Your opponent is between a rock and a hard place! He needs to save Force to avoid losing 2 Force at the end of his turn. But if he desperately needs the saved Force, he must lose 2 Force and still keep enough in Force Pile to survive your drain from there. He'd better be thinking ahead!
