Mosep (PC Errata) — PC AR 2023 Appendix A (Holotable)

Mosep is a Dark Character (Alien) from A New Hope.

Card Text

When opponent is losing Force from Force drains at the same or an adjacent site, lost Force must come from Reserve Deck only.

Lore

Jabba's Nimbanel accountant. Inside contacts allow him to disrupt the cash flow of the Hutt's enemies. He knows a mistake could make him the next write-off.

Strategy

By Tom Lischke[1]

Dark Side Uncommon 2 A New Hope

Mosep (MP) can be fairly useful in most site based decks. Late in the game, the ability to force drain straight from the reserve deck can be extremely useful. The strategy that allows MS to really shine is the capture/torture deck. While IT-O wielding a Hypo is getting medieval on the LS characters at the Death Star Detention Block Corridor, Mosep can provide the presence there for the force drain and make sure the loss comes straight from the reserve deck. There are a number of other twists that can make this strategy cruel and unusual. The drawback is that MP is a power 1, ability 1, 3 deploy alien, making him expensive for his basic statistics. The game text though, can easily make up for the cost.

Card to watch out for:

Surprise Assault.

This card can really sting the power 1 Mosep. IT-O has a power of 4, which can alleviate this if they are together.

Combos:

MP + DS Detention Block Corridor + IT-O.

LS player loses large amounts of force directly from the reserve deck.

MP + Limited Resources

Good for a deck that relies on indirect force loss rather than battle.

MP + Monnok

If the LS player starts drawing large numbers of cards to avoid losing good cards blindly from the reserve deck on a force drain, use Monnok to randomly send cards back to the used pile. If you see the LS deck has many doubles, use Monnok to make the LS player lose all doubles from her hand.

MP + Dark Jedi Lightsaber or Presence of the Force or Organa's Ceremonial Necklace These cards can cause additional force drain at adjacent or the same site as MP.

Truly cruel combo:

MP + Your Eyes Can Deceive You

This combination will make it extremely difficult for the LS player to play her deck. The LS will never see any of the cards lost to MS force drains. The LS will not know which characters are lost or which destiny draws have been removed. Truly appropriate for a torture deck.
