The History of the Players Committee traces how volunteer Players Committee (PC) support replaced Decipher's commercial end-of-life for Star Wars CCG, created Virtual cards, reorganized them, and later Reset the tournament pool.
This wiki is a fan encyclopedia. It is not the Players Committee and does not replace starwarsccg.org.

Timeline (high level)
Decipher era and handoff
Decipher published Star Wars CCG from 1995 through Theed Palace (2001) and related products. When Decipher announced the license was leaving, it publicly formed a Players' Committee / Player Advocate structure so fans could continue organized play, rulings, and support.[3]
Period research places an Advocate announcement around ~25 January 2002 (IA captures of contemporary Decipher/fan PC pages; med confidence until a single stable permalink is locked here). The June 2002 Wayback HTML below remains the firmly linked primary cite.
That announcement names early Advocate roles (player support, tournament support, rules support, gameplay support), describes a Norfolk meeting to turn the game over to players, and notes Game Players Network assistance with communications and prize shipping after 30 April 2002. Advanced Rulebook 2.0 (Legacy Virtual rules)
During the Legacy Virtual period the PC published Players Committee Advanced Rulebook 2.0 (archived final PDF; wiki transcription labeled Legacy Virtual-era). Among other revisions it introduced the Mission card type. That book is not the current tournament Advanced Rulebook.
2014 Virtual Card Reset
Reset announce ~14 July 2014 (Category One-era reporting; med pending stable permalink). Wiki Virtual Set 0 / Virtual Set D = 24 September 2014. Oct 2014 community summaries discuss the new pool.
In Fall 2014 the PC Reset the competitive virtual pool. On this wiki, Virtual Set 0 and Virtual Set D are dated 24 September 2014 on the Main Page Current Virtual band. The Alternate Format Tournament Guide describes Standard (post-Reset virtual icons) versus Legacy (pre-Reset black-diamond / Block pool), and notes the 2014 World Championships as the last championship circuit on the old pool.[9]
After the Reset, Current Virtual sets continue (see Category:Current Virtual sets). Current tournament rules are transcribed at Players Committee Advanced Rulebook (2023 edition).

Organized play, slips, formats, and news remain at starwarsccg.org. This wiki cross-links those resources but does not replace them.

Errata and drops: Virtual text is easier to revise or remove from legality than a physical print run. A card's (V) text in 2002, its Block-era presentation, and any current Virtual descendant may disagree. Prefer the document and format that match the era you are playing; do not assume "whatever is on the current cardlist" is the historical text.
Gaps and uncertainties
- Redux / Re-Edit primary program pages still thin; V7-11 "Official text as of 4 Dec 2006" is not proven first ship (Virtual Sets (2002-2009)).
- Modern starwarsccg.org takeover / hosting migration: UNKNOWN as a full cutover story. HTML archival shows the domain forward by 5 July 2009 (strengthens timeline; does not by itself prove takeover complete).
- Drop-lists between pre-reorg / Block / Reset: known in principle, not tabulated yet.
