Title

Vader

Lore

The man who sought to destroy every last Jedi. Once a pupil of Obi-Wan Kenobi, he was drawn into the dark side of the Force.

Game text

Must deploy on the Death Star. Thereafter may move anywhere desired. However, cannot deploy if two or more enemy unique (*) characters are in play. If he participates in a battle and loses, draw destiny. If destiny >4, "choke" (lose) one member of the Imperial personnel. You may choose whom to lose.

Comparison with the original English printing

Both originals prohibit deployment when two or more opposing unique characters are in play and call for a destiny draw after a losing battle, with a result greater than 4 causing an Imperial casualty. The original English says "one Imperial present"; the Japanese says 帝国軍の人員を一人 without a corresponding location restriction. The Japanese choice sentence says that the player may choose whom to lose.[1][3]

Original English lore

Sought to extinguish all Jedi. Former student of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Seduced by the dark side of the Force.

Original English game text

Must deploy on Death Star, but may move elsewhere. May not be deployed if two or more of opponent's unique (•) characters on table. If in a losing battle, draw destiny. If destiny > 4, 'choke' (lose) one Imperial present (your choice).

Rules
