Thomas McManus The Danger Room - Anderson, IN 9-25-99 Wow, my second sanctioned constructed. =) The location is the Danger Room, which relocated to a bigger store area a couple months ago. They're going to have a grand opening next Saturday, with everything 15% off. :) Just after first pairings - leaving an odd guy out - three from W. Lafyette showed up, including listserver Steve Horton. I thought about bowing down before his listserving greatness, but decided against it. ;) This left us with an even number of players, so play continued. Since this is all from memory and I'm horrible with names, I'll do the best I can. Forgive me if I get something wrong. Game 1 LS vs Justin's ??? Well, at the end of the first turn I drew up, pulling my only DoS! Crud! Took me several turns to get my Traffic Control. Then I failed on test 2. Combined, those slowed me enough that I drew up 2 Force to end a couple turns after I finished test 2. Full Loss by 7 Game 2 DS vs Daniel Spaid's mains beatdown What probably lost the game for me was deploying U-3PO to block a drain from the EPPs on like turn 3. His R-3PO followed next turn and made me lose 4 Force a turn for the rest of the game (note to self - include Look Sir, Droids next time!!). Nothing spectacular happened. Full Loss by 31 Game 3 LS vs Katie's Endor ground Testing went VERY smoothly, and my surprise assaults caught her for probably 20 Force by the end of the game. After test 2 and Scramble, there was no way she could draw destiny - after the flip, EPP Luke and Obi cleared house. Full Win by 30-something, I think - now one of these games I played an Andrew, I forget who the other game was against - Game 4 DS vs Andrew? 's HB We both set up quickly, me flipping a turn or two after him. Executor came down to probe, only to get barriered. So I reinforced it with a Septoid and Evax. Next turn, he beats down with Gen. Solo in Falcon, plus like another 3 X-Wings in addition to the one he had there (no S-foils, thank goodness!). I only lost 1 card and my forfeit fodder. Next turn I move to Ralltiir and probe (on his following turn) and got it. Then I pretty much had uncontested drains for 2 at 5 locations, while Executor played tag with the Falcon & Spiral. Full Win by 3 - at this point, someone had to leave, so there was a bye - Game 5 DS vs Andrew? 's MPG start w/ unique X-wings Well, yet again I got an awesome starting hand of 2 generic sites and several 2/2 Imps. I managed to flip quickly, and killed off Capt. Han who was wandering around on the ground Wondering Who They Found. There was an interesting Zev in Rogue 2 with Biggs outside VS an op, Lennox, and Tempest Scout 6 fight - he played Somersault and Don't Underestimate Our Chances. It would have caused some damage for me, but it backfired on him - I drew 2 3's for destiny and he drew a site, so he wound up losing 12. I continued draining and won. Full Win by 23 Game 6 I had to leave, and was going to get the bye anyway. Finished 6ish out of 12. A big improvement over my 8/9 finish last time. =) Pulled junk out of my prize packs. :(
