The Outer Rim (fan site)

The Outer Rim was a Las Vegas GeoCities fan site for Star Wars CCG, Young Jedi, Jedi Knights TCG, and Star Trek CCG. The account was geocities.com/ev9d11/. The SWCCG section used the name The Outer Rim; the Young Jedi section used Young Jedi Deck Effect.[1][2] A third-party mirror of the same files is live on geocities.ws.[3]
The disclaimer line dated the SWCCG material © 1998 THE OUTER RIM SWCCG.[1] Young Jedi material is © 2000 YOUNG JEDI DECK EFFECT, Jedi Knights © 2000 JEDI KNIGHTS DECK MASTERS, and Star Trek © 2000 STARTREK OUTPOST.[1] Dated homepage update lines on the surviving capture are 12 May (SWCCG), 19 May (Jedi Knights), and 20 May (Young Jedi).[1] The same capture said the Tatooine expansion was set to release on 30 May, which places that freeze in 2001.[1]
Staff
The homepage listed four contacts:[1]
- The Mercenary (JCM), also billed as Outlander Mercenary on the Young Jedi interviews index.[4]
- The Information Broker (SM), the SWCCG-side contact on the Alliance Jump Station.[2]
- Tusken Sniper, listed as a contact.
- Merlin, listed as a contact.
Patrick Sullivan closed his 5 December 2000 interview with "Thanks for the questions, Avery."[4] Avery Poliak of Las Vegas reached the Young Jedi World Championship final at DecipherCon 2000.[5] Tim Guzman wrote as Info Broker on DeckTech and as Gold 117 on Decipher's squadron list. The Young Jedi Deck Effect index lists him for the Nevada Grand Slam, 2000.[4]
SWCCG section

The SWCCG index is titled SW Alliance Jump Station.[2] It grouped decks by set, submission forms, articles, recent rulings, Ask The Senate, Ask Yoda, Las Vegas tournament listings, and constructed ratings.[2] The On Topic list included State Pictures as two adjacent links. Both pointed at Articles/articles.htm, the SWCCG articles index, on the 6 August 2001 capture and on later captures.[2] A Nevada States 2001 pictures page on the same account said the camera was down and posted no photographs that year.[6]
Decks
The surviving indexes are:
- Expanded Universe — three Rebel lists by Skali: X-Wing Hidden Base, Speederz Rulez, and Watch Your Step.[7]

Reading copies of the surviving SWCCG 60s are at The Outer Rim decks. Young Jedi lists stay on the archived HTML.
Articles and tournament reports
The SWCCG index linked an Articles section next to ratings, Ask The Senate, Ask Yoda, and Las Vegas tournament listings.[2] Each surviving article used a shared header graphic titled The Outer Rim Informative Articles.[9] Tournament reports from the site are catalogued at The Outer Rim tournament reports.
Ratings and local play
The SWCCG index linked Las Vegas tournament listings and constructed ratings.[2]
Young Jedi Deck Effect
The homepage dated Young Jedi Deck Effect © 2000 and carried a 20 May Young Jedi update line.[1] The interviews index is the surviving Deck Effect interviews listing.[4] Young Jedi lists stay on the archived HTML, as on Young Jedi.
Interviews
Young Jedi Deck Effect published eight player interviews in 2000. Full copies of the SWCCG players' interviews are on the player pages and indexed at Interviews.[4]
