Brother of Matt Sokol (2026-10-26)

Two DeckTech tournament reports from 5 November 2000 say Dan Sokol is Matt Sokol's brother:

• Mike Panayotou, syracuse-ny-11-4-00 (d1418): "I am paired with Dan Sokol (Matt’s brother)". Preserved copy: Internet Archive.
• Brian Terwilliger, twigg-takes-the-coruscant-civil-war-2 (d1417): "World Champ Matt Sokol, his bro, Dan (great player!)". Preserved copy: Internet Archive.

A 2001 DeckTech report (a-weekend-with-kyle-craft, d2536) also has "Matt Sokol. He comes over with his bro Dan". The Trandosite Matt Sokol interview (iv16) does not mention him.

DecipherCon 1999 photo identification (27 October 2026)

Matt Sokol identified his brother Dan Sokol as the man in the yellow shirt on the right (third from left, no cap) in File:Team Albany DecipherCon 1999.jpg (personal communication to Bill Bisco, 27 October 2026). Team Albany membership (27 October 2026)

Dan Sokol is listed as a Team Albany member on Bill Bisco's ruling (27 October 2026). The basis is the yellow Team Albany shirt he wears in Decipher's DecipherCon 1999 photo thu16 (File:Team Albany DecipherCon 1999.jpg), plus Matt Sokol's identification of him in that photo (personal communication to Bill Bisco, 27 October 2026).
