Introduction
This deck aims to win by capitalizing on the new V card All My Urchins and using the heroic duos of Han & Chewie and Lando & Lobot to hold onto Cloud City.
Decklist
The post starts 'An Unusual Amount of Fear +10'; no Defensive Shields are named.
Notes
- The headers total 61 (Effects 8) but the Effects section lists 7 cards; the list is 60.
- Weather Vane (V): ovs_pick finds no legal printing because the page has a side suffix; dested Weather Vane (V) (Light) (Virtual Set 6).
- Posted Fall of a Legend dested Fall Of The Legend; Pucimir Thryss dested Pucumir Thryss; Kal'Fanl C'ndros dested Kal'Falnl C'ndros; Sergeant Edain dested Sergeant Edian; Lando Calrissian (unmarked) dested the printed Cloud City card.
- Original-era (V) cards: Bo Shek (V) (Virtual Set 1), Chewbacca (V) (Virtual Set 3), Flash Of Insight (V) (Virtual Set 5), the rest Virtual Set 6.
Strategy
This deck is solely designed to try and take advantage of All My Urchins (V). You lack the firepower of a more conventional QMC regarding counterbeats and space power, but it should let you pack enough of a surprise punch to hold on for a win. I wouldn't expect it to do very well in a modern tournament, but it should lead to some fun games.
You start the Guest Quarters to maintain the façade of a standard QMC. You can easily flip on your first turn if you have valid BE (V) target(s) in reserve and characters in hand. I think your most expensive character is deploy 4 and you have 6 characters who go down for free. If you can't do this, or you don't want to due to lack of evasion, I recommend getting CC, since it gives the opponent no Force w/ the Vane (V).
Once you flip, never forget to TV every turn. You have plenty of evasion on the ground, so your concern should be focusing on holding Bespin. Mirax on the Skate is not the best, but her cycling ability can be handy. Your beast in space is a loaded Falcon. Artoo is for Boshek (V), since he's power 5. He also can hold guns for you. I was considering using a SE X Wing, that had immunity <4 for the matching pilot, but IMO the good destiny on R2 in R5 and the greater power make it more worthwhile. You should be able to have an array of tricks up your sleeve, such as Out of Nowhere, AWRI combo, Life Debt, Punch It!, or cancel a battle outright w/ Alt to Fighting.
On the ground, you can evade w/ Fall of Legend, Into the Vent Shaft Lefty, or the standard Path. If you want to make a fight of it, be sure to save up Force to use Lobot (V)'s GT. He can grab Lando for free or get a powerhouse like Chewie for 4 Force. Glance (V) is great f you grab Lando, and Life Debt works as well on land as in space. You have some nice destiny in this deck, so track and use I Have a Bad Feeling About This in your counterattacks to make them sting. Lando's not a System adds to your total destiny.
Here are some more specific card choices:
All My Urchins (V):
Here's the GT:
Deploy on table. While your only cards with ability on table are Cloud Cars, aliens, and Han (except Han, Chewie And The Falcon), once per turn, you may place your just forfeited card in your Used Pile.
Every character and starship is AMU compliant, which is extremely limiting, but hopefully very rewarding.
CC: Core Tunnel: it is a 1/1 site, but every bit of my GT is applicable to this deck.
Lando's Not A System: beyond the straightforward battle destiny adding, I can also have fun w/ CC Landos…. Yes, that means that my CC Lando can use it, or if the opponent gets his Lando (V) out, you can setup some overflow w/ this effect.
Computer Interface (V): Should be a fun thing that gets a lot of play w/ 2 Lobots
CC Troopers- more to be used w/ Lobot V than anything else, they are cheap and have decent power.
Melas- makes BE (V) more useful.
Jar Jar: I wanted a spy to replace the loss of Corran, and this is what I get.
Enjoy this foray into wackiness!
RESPONSES:
I found no need for BMM, between the character retrieval aspects of CD (V), AMU (V), CCC, Flash (V), OTE, etc.... BMM is just for Jar Jar, while all these other forms work on anyone.
