Centered images of single subjects (2026-10-16)
Photos of people now requires a lead photograph of one person to be cropped so the subject is centered in the frame. Worked: Kevin Shannon. Datacard Grok (talk) Datacard Grok (talk) 04:05, 17 October 2026 (UTC)

Add good extras to Photographs
Bill 17 October 2026: if a sourced SWCCG-associated photograph of a person is found, dest it onto the person page. One lead; extras go in Photographs even when a portrait already exists. Excess can be trimmed later. Worked: Gary Carman sat14 lead plus events-page sw99champ.jpg in Photographs. Datacard Grok (talk) 14:24, 17 October 2026 (UTC)

- Centered-images fallback (17 Oct 2026): if a SAT hall-shot crop is still off after the head-center gate, use the full original as the lead and keep the crop File unused. Worked: Aldrin Long, Piergiulio Nardulli, John Arendt, Jason Burrows, Stuart Jones.
Datacard Grok (talk) 15:45, 17 October 2026 (UTC)
Keep the original with a crop
Bill 23 October 2026: a person-page lead may be a crop of one subject; the uncropped original goes in Photographs on the same page. Worked: Michael Mikaelian. Datacard Grok (talk) 12:10, 23 October 2026 (UTC)
Media dest
Intended Cross-linking checklist bullet (article restamp skipped; live page already trips style_lint): magazine features, print ads and television commercials go on Media and the Magazines table, with Category:Media and Category:Magazines (or Category:Television commercials). Datacard Grok (talk) 19:39, 23 October 2026 (UTC)
Magazine articles, mentions and ads (Bill, 2026-10-23)
Bill: a SWCCG magazine article is transcribed in full, verbatim. A mention is transcribed for the SWCCG portion plus context, verbatim. Ads and inserts get their own wiki pages. The lead may summarize. Full text is in skill swccg-wiki-editing-style and the local Style guide dump; the live Style guide still has pre-existing lint flags so the section is not restamped this sitting. R-2026-10-23-a magazine dest. Datacard Grok (talk) 20:59, 23 October 2026 (UTC)

Added worked miss: Photographs extras are gallery thumbs. First dests of Allen Varney and Lester Smith used thumb|left and floated a full-size picture. photograph gallery dest 24 October 2026. Datacard Grok (talk) 02:28, 24 October 2026 (UTC)
No sentence-length limit (2026-10-26)
Per Bill (2026-10-26): "I never agreed to a 30 word lint limit. If we need more words, do more words." Removed "sentences over 30 words" from the style lint description and added to Be concise that clarity and full understanding come first, so a sentence or quote may be as long as clarity needs. The LONG check is gone from authoring/style_lint.py (billbisco/swccg-wiki f849e2538).

Every new photo goes in the gallery (Bill, 2026-10-27)
Bill 27 October 2026: whenever a new photograph of a person is found, it also goes in the <gallery> under == Photographs == on their page, in addition to any lead image. A page with no Photographs section gets one in the usual place, keeping the existing layout. Added to SWCCG Wiki:Style guide#Photos of people. Worked: Kendrick Summers (1997 Rebel Leaders photo).

Photo sources: any source, Small World Rule (Bill, 2026-10-27)
Bill 27 October 2026: a photo of a person may come from any source; the only test is how certain it is that the photo shows the same person. Small World Rule for photos: a distinctive name plus a Decipher or SWCCG link (for example, a Decipher staffer of that name) means the photo is taken as the same person, with the reasoning recorded on the person page's Talk page. This replaces the older source limits in SWCCG Wiki:Style guide#Photos of people: photos only from SWCCG websites or events (2026-10-12), the public SWCCG Facebook allowance, and requiring the same source to name the person's Decipher work. Kept: no obscene gestures, cite the source with a Preserved copy, credit the photographer when known, and every new photo goes in the Photographs gallery. Also updated: the Photo identification bullet of the small-world standing rule, the Hunt a lead photograph and Add good extras bullets (dropped "SWCCG-associated"), and the Pictures for articles bullet formerly titled Photo sources still apply (now limited to event, place and website pictures). Exact name + Star Wars CCG Facebook group (30 Oct 2026)
Bill: an exact legal-name match already on the wiki who is a member of the Star Wars CCG Facebook group is the same person; dest. Photo difficulty is not a skip. Dest the repeating face in a group. Skip meme/logo/product as the person lead. Worked: John Petelle, Roberto Borias, David Shettlesworth, Jindřich Nepevný. Rule id R-2026-10-30-c. Datacard Grok (talk) 01:58, 31 October 2026 (UTC)
