Hyperdrive (format)
Hyperdrive is a custom Star Wars CCG format designed by Owen Strombeck.[1] Each player chooses two 27-card theme packs, selects starting cards, and shuffles the rest into a deck.[1] Strombeck published it as a Jumpstart-style environment: modified Decipher cards, new cards, and a shortened ruleset.[1]
- Designed by: Owen Strombeck
- Publisher: Owen Strombeck
- Type: custom constructed (no deckbuilding)
- Deck: two theme packs (54 cards)
- Rules: Star Wars CCG Hyperdrive v2.0, 16 August 2025[2]
The format is not a championship era. Championship Versions lists do not include Hyperdrive printings. A modified Decipher face in this format is a new card identity in Hyperdrive.
Pack composition
Each pack has 27 cards: a system, a related site, a thematic Effect that can be started, then a mix of characters or vehicles, starships, weapons, and interrupts.[1][2]
Rules changes
Systems have no parsec numbers. A starship either has a hyperdrive or does not, shown by the Astromech icon. A ship with a hyperdrive may move from any starting system to any other system in one normal move.[2]
