Deploys -2 to Tatooine. If opponent just initiated a battle at a related Tatooine site, may use 2 Force to relocate Obi-Wan to that site. Immune to attrition < 4.
Lore
Qui-Gon Jinn's Padawan. Stayed behind to protect Queen Amidala when Qui-Gon left to explore Mos Espa, but was in constant communication should he be needed.
Strategy
Many people were concerned about the mechanics of persona replacement between Episode I characters and their Classic Trilogy versions. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padawan Learner provides a simple lesson for how the problem can be avoided altogether. The youthful Tatooine Expansion version of Obi-wan has a higher power than his Classic Trilogy versions. As a result, he cannot be replaced by those versions via persona replacement.
Similarly, his ability is lower than those versions, meaning that the older Kenobi cannot be replaced with the younger one. This is a simple mechanic with no new persona rules to learn, just the use of an already-established rule.
As the expansion title suggests, young Obi-wan is strongly linked to Tatooine in his usefulness. First, he receives a generous deploy bonus to Tatooine that allows him to deploy for a pittance of 4 Force. Not bad for a character with 6 power and 5 ability, plus a healthy amount of immunity to attrition. But what makes our young Padawan really interesting is his 'teleporting' gametext. When the Dark Side player initiates a battle at a related Tatooine site, Obi-wan can relocate to the battle for 2 Force, giving the Light Side an added power boost in the battle, not to mention the chance to hit a character if Obi-wan is carrying his lightsaber. The Dark Side will have to carefully consider when and where to battle on Tatooine in order to effectively deal with the teleporting Jedi hit-man.
And getting young Obi-wan into play is helped by the gametext of Padme Naberrie, who lets Kenobi deploy from the Reserve Deck. Obi-wan Kenobi, Padawan Learner continues the tradition of great personae of Ben Kenobi. The only trick is deciding which one to use.
