Wampa is a Dark Creature (Snow) from Hoth.
Card Text
* Ferocity = 3 + destiny. Habitat: Hoth sites. Deploy only to Wampa Cave or unoccupied marker site. Defeated characters are eaten or relocated to Wampa Cave (opponent of victim chooses).
Lore
Sly, carnivorous beast which stalks the snow-packed tundra. Wampas frequently drag their prey to an ice cave for storage. They always prefer to devour their victims alive.
Strategy
The most powerful creature card to date in the Decipher Star Wars Universe is the Wampa, and he remains a favorite with Dark Side players who favor Hoth as their stomping grounds.
For those who play the increasingly popular Walker Garrison deck, a Wampa offers some unique advantages. If the Dark Side has a Hoth: Wampa Cave on the table, they can deploy this creature for free. If there are any non-droid characters elsewhere on Hoth, the Wampa begins to move towards them. Dark Side characters can avoid the Wampa (and Ice Storms, and blasters, lightsabers and etc.) by staying in Imperial Walkers or Blizzard Walkers. Light Side characters may be more vulnerable to attack, even if they are at interior sites.
The Wampa is full of surprises, and packs a powerful punch, as Commander Luke Skywalker discovered. A Dark Side player could arrange a destiny draw of 7, making this creature a hard-to-beat 10 power in an attack! Wampas can deploy under the Hoth shields, at locations without presence or even Force icons, wreaking havoc on an Echo Base Operations deck or a Hoth numbers deck if it uses non-droid characters such as Wioslea!
Finally, the Wampa has a unique ability: he may choose to send his victims to the Hoth: Wampa Cave instead of the lost pile. Imagine a Wampa tearing through the Hoth: Echo Base Command Center, sending Light Side characters to the Cave one at a time, while the Dark Side sets up a welcoming committee of powerful characters in the Cave, guarded by Walkers with AT-AT Cannons at the exterior site just outside.
Combo:
, then a massive deployment to the Wampa Cave: Lots of punishment for the Light Side player, who can't move away, since his feet seem to have frozen into the ice!
