2026 Retro GEMP Match Play Championship (Premiere to DSII) was an open-registration Players Committee online match-play championship on GEMP in the Premiere - Death Star II environment (PC title: Premiere to DSII). Play ran from mid-June through early September 2026; the Players Committee news summary of final standings was published 10 September 2026.[1][2]

Timo Dusel won the event with Ralltiir Operations (Dark) and Hidden Base (Light). Jonny Chu finished second; Jeremy Christoffel third.[1]

Format and schedule

  • Environment: Premiere through Death Star II (GEMP: Premiere - Death Star II / premiere_ds2).[1][2]
  • Platform: GEMP (play.swccg.com / PC GEMP table).
  • Structure: Seeded double elimination match play. Each match is two games (one Dark, one Light) with the same locked decks; higher net life force advances (lost-pile count as tiebreaker).[2][3]
  • Bracket: challonge.com/kapftrvm (posted by the tournament director in the brackets thread).[3]
  • Timing: Overview estimated 14 June 2026 – 6 September 2026; registration / locked-deck deadline 12 June 2026 (Pacific). Players generally had about one week per match; finals were scheduled for Sunday 6 September 2026 at 2 PM EST.[2][4]
  • Entry: Free ($0); open registration (no qualifier).[2]
  • Locked decks: Dark and Light lists submitted before the deadline and used throughout (TD may allow early fixes for obviously broken lists).[2]
  • Result reporting: Players posted match winners in the reporting thread.[5]

After a player poll, the bracket used standard double elimination in which the winners-bracket champion must be defeated twice.[3]
