Deploys for free to Slave Quarters. Once per game may take [Tatooine] Threepio into hand from Reserve Deck; reshuffle. While in a battle at a site, subtracts one from each of opponent's battle destiny draws.

Mother of Anakin Skywalker. As Anakin grew, Shmi realized her son was special. Did her best to hide his abilities from Watto.

Strategy

Everybody loves reducing opponent's battle destiny, and Shmi is no exception. If your opponent is drawing multiple battle destiny, Shmi can lessen the damage from each one. She can also sometimes prevent you from losing anything at all. Many times your opponent will draw a one for battle destiny, which normally would force you to lose something, but Shmi will reduce that one to a zero, saving all your characters.

She also lets you get Threepio With His Parts Showing from your Reserve Deck once per game. While that might not sound like a great benefit, the two characters work great together in battle. Threepio lets you put a card from your hand into your Used Pile, and when with Shmi in battle he lets you put the top card from your Used Pile on to your Reserve Deck which can enable you to get a guaranteed weapon hit, or any other action which requires a high destiny.
