Light Side droid decks have always been tournament viable decks. They have the ability to decimate your opponent in a fight. With the recent additions of E3P0 and 4-LOM, the Dark side now has the ability to employ the same strategy. No droid deck should be without these cards. Both abilities of the cards are essential to keeping your strategy together. Opponent tries to whack C3P0 with a lightsaber? Nope, he's swinging at CZ3. Want to blast E3P0 with Han's Heavy Blaster Pistol? I don't think so! You'll fry innocent little EG-6 (Eegee-Six)EG-6 instead! I'm going to review the card abilities in reverse order, since that's, more than likely, the order you'd use the abilities during a game.

The second function of the cards serve to protect your characters. "Re-target an opponents weapon to one of your droids at same site. If droid is lost, use original target's forfeit number." Lightsabers can devastate any player in combat. They have the greatest chance of hitting their targets, and usually that target is central to your strategy. Well, now you can send that swing off to hit a droid that's not as essential as, say, C3P0. It's a great way to protect your big guns too!

Card Text

Lose a droid to cancel all attrition against you at same site this turn. OR Re-target an opponent's weapon to one of your droids at same site as target. If droid is 'hit', use original target's forfeit number.

Since these cards are counterparts, I decided to do one review for both.

You'll fry innocent little EG-6 instead!

The first function is a great one for protecting your fighting forces in general! "Sacrifice (forfeit) a droid to cancel all attrition against you at same site this turn." This is a great way of overcoming those nasty destiny adders! You still may have to lose Force, but at least YOU get to determine how much you lose from the site! Even if a single destiny is drawn, you can forfeit the droid that Obi-Wan hit with his Lightsaber (due to your other Self-Destruct Mechanism) and not have to lose another thing from the site!

Need I say it again, no droid deck, Light or Dark, should be without these cards! A few of my favorite combos are:

LIGHT:

C3P0 + 2X-3KPR + nighttime conditions + a hoard of Rebels and Droids + 2 This Is All Your Fault - Hit them with a ton of power using a handful of characters. Lose only 1 card due to weapons and attrition combined!

DARK:

4-LOM + Rodian + ALL the bounty hunters you can find (especially IG-88) + a slew of droids + Mos Eisley + 2 Self-Destruct Mechanisms- Can you say ouch! I once had 47 power from 7 characters and lost only a Probe Droid during the fight, taking my power down to a 45!
