This location may not look like much on paper, but don't let your guard down. The Galactic Senate is the most happening place on Coruscant! Just like the Audience Chamber from Jabba's Palace, the Senate packs game-changing power in a deceptively simple package.
The first thing you'll notice is that battles work differently in the Senate. There are no saber-swinging Jedi or hard-bitten bounty hunters here; disputes are resolved by using the new Politics stat, not Power – hence its non-battleground status. Characters who can destroy entire armies elsewhere, like Darth Maul, can do little except draw battle destiny at the Senate, where their political "power" is zero. This makes it a perfect place to park weak characters, like Padmé Naberrie, who are crucial to your strategy.
But it's also the perfect excuse for you to play with characters who have Politics. Not only can these characters defend the Senate (or attack it) with ease, but they also give you powerful advantages while you have more Politics at the Senate than your opponent. If you're prepared to hold the Senate, you can cancel your opponent's battle destiny draws, retrieve Force every turn, deal direct damage to your opponent, and more!
It's the powerbase of the Galactic Republic. I'm sure you can do something with it.
