2000 Decipher World Championship
2000 Decipher World Championship was the fifth Star Wars CCG World Championship, at DecipherCon in Kissimmee, Florida. Matt Sokol (United States) defeated Yannick Lapointe (Canada) in the Final Confrontation.[1][2]
The constructed pool was Premiere - Death Star II. Wikipedia lists 72 Day 1 players. Sokol was player 36 on Day 1. He lost the first final game and won the second by one more Force.[2][1]

Day 2 was eight games (4 Light / 4 Dark). Twelve advanced to Day 3. Day 3 reset those twelve for four games (2 Light / 2 Dark); top two played the Final Confrontation.[4]
The last Day 2 slot was Dominic Gaudreault 10 (+70). Martin Akesson 10 (+69) missed by one differential. On Day 3, Kevin Shannon's Game 2 Dark vs Steve Brentson was a Modified Win by 14 (+1 victory point). A full win there would have moved Shannon past Sokol on the cut math; that example is on Tournaments#2000 World Championship — Sokol, Shannon, and a modified win.[4]
