Keder The Black is a Dark Character (Republic) from Coruscant.

Card Text

Deploys only to a site as an Undercover spy (-2 on Coruscant). During your control phase, may 'break cover' to target one character with politics present. Draw destiny. If destiny +1 > target's politics, target and Keder are lost.

Lore

A highly paid assassin and spy, Keder has infiltrated the Senate disguised as a Coruscant Guard. The identity of his target and his employer remains a mystery to all but him.

Strategy

By Doug Taylor[1]

What's not to like about this Man in Black? By all appearances he's just a plain old Coruscant Guard, but underneath that fancy helmet he's a powerful spy and sneaky and effective assassin.

With the new Senator Objectives sure to make a big splash in the playing environment, and Coruscant featuring some strong locations for both sides, Keder is a must for nearly every deck. Efficient as an Undercover spy, he can be pulled from your Reserve Deck with Squabbling Delegates, deployed for 2, and can break cover and battle if called upon in a pinch.

Keder is at his best in the Galactic Senate. Pick your politcial target, but remember that the bigger a political opponent he is, the harder it is to get close for the hit (meaning you have to track a higher destiny). Break Keder's cover during your control phase, make a senator into political history, and rhen dissappear into the night to avoid the beatdown. But miss that destiny draw and you will be revealed!

Keder also works great when either player is using their Senator Objective. Since all of your opponent's Rebel leaders of ability < 4 have politics of 2, the one you choose is easy pickings for his assassination text if you draw a 2 or higher.

If you are playing with politicians yourself, Keder can wipe out an adversary to give you that edge and help you gain a political advantage.

Dark and dangerous, he becomes one of the best characters available in Closed Environment, where the ratio of his "targets" (characters with politics) is higher than usual, and his cover is foolproof.

Combos:

Target an enemy with LRP first to guarantee your assassination attempt.

Spend some Force to reduce his politics, then end his political career.
