Ki-Adi-Mundi is a Light Character (Republic) from Coruscant.
Card Text
Deploys +3 if not to Jedi Council Chamber. While at a battleground site, if opponent just initiated a battle at same or adjacent site, opponent must lose top card of their Reserve Deck (if possible). Immune to attrition < 5 while at Jedi Council Chamber.
Lore
Cerean Jedi trained by Yoda since the age of four. Only Jedi Council member who is a Jedi Knight. Freed his homeworld from a group of rogues without any bloodshed.
Strategy
The Cerean Jedi Knight is the only Jedi Council Member who is a Jedi Knight (the rest of the Council are Jedi Masters). The first thing many will notice is not what he has, but what he doesn't: Ki-Adi lacks immunity to attrition. That's a drawback, but there are ways to gain immunity if you really need it. Yoda's Gimer Stick or Obi's Cape for example. [Editor's note: or the Coruscant card Are You Brain Dead?!]
Even without immunity though, Ki-Adi is a great defender. Ignoring decent power and Jedi-level ability, your opponent may be tempted to try and take him out early, invited by the lack of immunity. He will have to pay the price to initiate a battle against him or any characters on adjacent sites, losing the top card of Reserve Deck. This can have a surprising effect against someone busy tracking 5's or 6's.
His deploy is steep, so avoid the penalty by deploying him where he was seen in the movie, the Jedi Council Chamber. Then use Yoda, Senior Council Member to relocate this protector.

Combos:
Get your Ki-Adi to any place where your opponent is going to initiate battle on his or her next turn to offer some protection and a little loss form opponent's deck.
Slow those who track, and make them think twice about losing from the top of Reserve.
If you put the Arconas on sites adjacent to Ki-Adi then you can make your opponent pay for initiating and move away from the battle yourself. Ideal for QMC decks!
Why draw when you can get high battle destiny without it!
