Mission is a card type introduced by the Players Committee in the Legacy Virtual-era Advanced Rulebook 2.0. Missions appear on some Virtual Legacy cards. This page summarizes the AR 2.0 Mission rules only; it does not invent additional rules.

Advanced Rulebook 2.0 definition

From Players Committee Advanced Rulebook 2.0 (Chapter 9 - The Cards, Missions; PDF page 9-13):

Type of card which represents tactical and strategic long-term planning. Missions deploy on table for free, but only during your deploy phase. There are two types of Missions: 'normal' Missions and Critical Missions. Critical Missions are so important that you may only have one on the table per game and you may not play one if you started the game with an Objective. Some functions listed in the game text of Missions cards apply to both players, instead of just to you or your opponent; if a particular sentence does not specifically apply to one player, then it applies to both.

Practical summary (same source)

  • Deploy: for free, only during your Deploy Phase.
  • Kinds: normal Missions, and Critical Missions.
  • Critical Mission limit: at most one Critical Mission on table per game; you may not play a Critical Mission if you started the game with an Objective.
  • Shared text: Mission game-text sentences that are not limited to you or your opponent apply to both players.
