Card Text

Permanent weapon is Twin Cannons (may target a character or vehicle using 1 Force; draw destiny; if destiny > defense value, target hit and opponent loses 1 Force). While with another destroyer droid, draws one battle destiny if not able to otherwise.

Lore

These Trade Federation droids are basically a mobile weapons platform. They were commissioned by the Trade Federation from the Colicoids of Colla IV.

Strategy

By Doug Taylor[1]

There was a reason that Obi-Wan had urgency in his voice when he called out to Qui-Gon, "Master, Destroyers!"

With the introduction of the first non-unique characters with permanent weapons, the Light Side will have to adjust quickly to these rolling, mobile assassins. In addition to posing a danger to characters, they should also cause your opponent to think twice about playing with too many vehicles, since Droidekas enjoy blowing them away too! Any target that is hit by these dangerous droids is also drilled with an additional 1 Force loss, which really adds insult to injury.

Two of them can hold down a site, able to Force drain and draw battle destiny, and with an armor of 3 they will prove tough to eliminate in a fight.

Combos:

Playing with multiples of these droids makes that old Premiere Effect stronger than ever. When your opponent moves an EPP (or a powerful character armed with a lightsaber, like Jedi Luke or Qui-Gon) to block your Force drain, they are vulnerable to losing their weapon on your next control phase!

Pile up some Droidekas with her at the Droid Workshop, Droid Junkheap or the Incinerator and unleash big Force drains on your enemy.

Don't forget that the retrieval part of this card targets any non-unique character, not just aliens! Play it once per game when you've got a bunch of them in play for retrieval that can't be canceled.
