Strategy

We Shall Double Our Efforts! addresses a few of the difficulties in using a Build the Death Star II deck. First, it increases the direct damage by 1 per turn which can help you win a tight race at the end of a game. It also makes it more difficult for Light Side to make the killing blow by subtracting 2 from their That Thing's Operational total. That can give you extra turns to mount your starfighter defenses.
But perhaps most importantly, opponent's starships are maneuver -5. This helps in a few different ways. It gives you a real possibility of the movement destiny in the sectors destroying your opponent's starships. It also doubles the effectiveness of your starship weapons. With Desperate Counter, if you have a TIE with a weapon, even a 6 maneuver Falcon needs to draw a 4 to survive moving from the Capacitors. Major Mianda and Scythe 3 or Lt. Hebsly and Scythe 1 really shine here. Both ships allow you to move and then fire a starship weapon during your move phase, and both pilots make hitting starships easier. Combined with the -5 maneuver
automatic.
